Community Electrification (CE) is a company paving the way for clean energy technology. CE is a business that was created with the intention to help build a healthier community by reducing local air pollution. We are straightforward with pricing for these products, pointing out the economic benefits of combining clean energy technologies. Our motto is life and community, so if you want to make the planet a better place or save money then CE will help you do it. When it comes to generating your own energy and/or driving clean transportation you have a source of pride that cannot easily be put into words, late night comedians call it smugness.

Our Passion

We have had solar panels on our own house for many years, having the largest solar array in Fargo for 4 years. Then we purchased a Nissan Leaf back in 2016. Combining solar with EV technology means that between the months of Feb-Oct we only spend ~$100 on direct energy costs for our house AND car combined, averaging about $11/month!

Developed a Comprehensive Energy Study for Fargo/Cass County. Our community spends between $607-$774 million per year on energy depending on the price of gas. Unfortunately ~95% of those energy dollars leave our community, instead of recycling them by having local energy production. If we slowly transitioned to local energy by 10% every 3 years our community would save ~$8 billion over 30 years!

Solar is really efficient when it comes to land use. You can achieve 30X more income per acre when using solar compared to corn ethanol. EVs are also really efficient using only ~1/3 the energy to drive the same distance as gas vehicles!

By using clean technologies we can improve the health of people in our community, especially children. There are numerous medical and scientific studies showing the many detrimental effects of air pollution. From serious diseases to heavy metal nanoparticles in your brain, fossil fuel pollution leads to about 1 in 5 deaths each year according to a recent Harvard study.

What Does CE do?

Solar energy is a great way to save money on your energy bill as well as getting away from using fossil fuel energy. By using other local companies CE has the ability to make solar installations happen, whether that is in a residential area, an off the grid cabin or a larger commercial / municipal project CE has the tools to get the job done and make it worth the investment.

Electrical Vehicle Charge Stations

Electrical transportation is becoming more popular. Electrical Vehicle charge stations are the infrastructure need to support this new wave of transportation. By working with local businesses CE is able to purchase and/or install EV charge stations in ND, MN, and SD including universal DC Fast charge stations making sure it is useful for the customer or community around it.

LED lights

LED lights are the easiest way to upgrade the energy efficiency of any type of building. LED lights are very low maintenance and long-lasting, they even work where they are not suppose to. By using other local businesses CE is able to get LED lights at a competitive price and install them in whatever quantity is needed.

Thermal Imaging used on Solar Installations

A way to make sure each solar cell is working on a panel is using thermal imaging. We have partnered with a local drone company to detect problems with a panel in a very short amount of time. In this case there was bird poop that hit the panel and made the cell not work properly, which is very evident with the bird turd resolution of thermal imaging.

In a solar project, we can determine the performance of solar panels with thermal imaging. In this case, we see how the reflection of a window and house onto the panels reduces energy production. The reflection creates more heat which makes the panels produce less energy. Can also see a bird turd in this image as well.
